How You Can Make Naan But The Best With Ghee Butter
With summer fast approaching, there will be plenty of social occasions to come when you may have guests around. While some will have just enjoyed a Eurovision party, others will be looking forward to barbecues, Midsummer parties, or events to coincide with summer sporting occasions like Wimbledon.
All that means you may be getting your recipe books out and looking for some new creations to try. But if you are cooking up something a bit spicy and want to accompany it with naan bread, you can take these to the next level with some golden ghee.
House & Garden has published a recipe for garlic and ghee naans that is well worth a try. This is a home-made skillet naan made in a frying pan, which the author assures us is just what anyone would want - “pillowy, fluffy, charred around the edges and doused in garlicky ghee”.
In this case, the ghee does not need to come with garlic already infused to start with; the recipe calls for three cloves of garlic as well as four tablespoons of ghee.
Three tablespoons of ghee are to be warmed up in a saucepan on low heat, with the garlic then being added and fried for 30 seconds. When it starts to change colour, the mix should be taken off heat and allowed to stand while the garlic infuses with the ghee.
When the naans (four of them in this recipe) are being cooked, some of the remaining tablespoon of ghee should be brushed over one side and then those sides should go face-down into the pan.
After, the rest of the ghee will be brushed over the top. All this helps it brown and when the pan-frying stage is over, the garlic-infused ghee can be poured on the rest.
This is just one of many delicious ways to combine ghee with garlic.Others include toast toppings, cauliflower rice and even scrambled eggs. Ultimately, it is such a superb combination you can use it in all sorts of ways, and enjoy lots of experimenting.
